The debut of Dana White’s Power Slap League has been postponed.

In the aftermath of White’s New Year’s Eve domestic violence situation, TBS has pushed back the debut of his new business venture. Rumors started spreading Thursday morning when reports came out about TBS removing the Slapfighting League from their programming schedule and website.

The MMA community began jumping to conclusions that TBS completely pulled the plug before Brett Okamoto cleared the air. He had this to say on Twitter:

“Per a UFC official, Dana White Power Slap league’s debut on TBS has been pushed back one week to Jan. 18. Still no response on a request for comment to TBS on the matter.”

A video of White slapping his wife has led to a disastrous start for the UFC’s calendar year. The UFC president has apologized, stating there is no excuse, but most people agree that there should be some sort of disciplinary action.

Dana White’s Power Slap League continues promoting their upcoming season

The Power Slap League stopped posting on social media for three days, which could be related to the backlash toward Dana White. After reports surfaced of their TV debut being postponed, their Twitter account returned to action by promoting one of their slappers, Duane Crespo. The social media post featured another highlight with the caption:

“Duane Crespo is a retired U.S. Marine who says MMA saved his life. Now the 'Iron Giant' is gunning for the Power Slap heavyweight title! [ Power Slap: Road to the Title | Coming to TBS Jan 18 ]”

White’s Power Slap League has been approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commission with the details revealed. Each fighter is given 30 seconds for their slapping attack, with another 30 seconds for their opponent to recover from the damage. Each match will last three rounds, with the result determined by the judges if there isn’t a knockout.

Regardless of their TV deal, the Slapfighting League is expected to air somewhere, considering the first season has been recorded. The season was recorded inside the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. There has been tons of controversy behind the business venture, and White’s domestic violence situation has made the backlash tremendously worse.
