“I feel like Phase 4 is a big filler” - Demetrious Johnson isn’t too thrilled with current MCU timeline

Demetrious Johnson isn’t overly excited for the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.

When Johnson isn’t preparing for a fight, the ONE flyweight world champion enjoys video games, movies, comic books, etc. During a recent interview with ONE Championship, ‘Mighty Mouse’ discussed the current group of MCU movies and shows being released between 2021 and 2022.

He had this to say:

“Honestly, I feel like it’s a filler. You have like, Dragon Ball Z or any other anime shows, and they just do fillers to get to the next arc of the saga. I feel like Phase Four is a big filler. Obviously, there’s no real big significant thing that happens in all of the movies. Jane Foster dies. What else happened? Nothing really if you ask me. Hopefully something significant happens and it kind of leads in a way to introducing Iron Heart. Is Black Panther going to thread on Kane or whatever? So, we’ll have to see. We’re going to Phase Five and hopefully they build at Quantumania.”

Johnson’s love for the MCU films is likely a much-needed release from his rigorous MMA training. At 36, ‘Mighty Mouse’ most recently beat Adriano Moraes in their world title rematch to win the ONE flyweight world championship.

Demetrious Johnson wants a standalone movie for Dr. Fate

Over in the DC comics world, Dwayne Johnson and Pierce Brosnan were featured in the new film, Black Adam. The ONE flyweight world champion saw the movie and was intrigued by the potential of Brosnan’s character, Dr. Fate.

During the JRE MMA Show, ‘Mighty Mouse’ had this to say:

“Dr. Fate was my favorite part. I would love to see him have a standalone movie. I would love to see Pierce Brosnan do his backstory of Dr. Fate, he was amazing to watch.”

Demetrious Johnson joins millions of other fans locked into the MCU and DC productions. Hopefully, for ‘Mighty Mouse’ and like-minded individuals, Phase Four ends with a bang, or Phase Five makes up for the alleged fillers.
