UFC 235 will see Cody Garbrandt face Pedro Munhoz

UFC 235: Jones vs Smith has rolled up and is just around the corner. The biggest UFC pay-per-view event of 2019 so far, the card has two title fights in the main event and co-main event, while Ben Askren is also making his debut in a fight against Robbie Lawler.

Cody Garbrandt is set to participate in a fight against Pedro Munhoz, as he looks to make a comeback following his back-to-back losses against TJ Dillashaw.

I had the chance to pose a few questions before him, prior to his fight against Munhoz.

Tune in to Sony Six and Sony Six HD to check out all the action from UFC 235 main card at 8:30 AM.

Q. Following your last loss against TJ Dillashaw, how important is this fight to you?

CG: This fight is very important to me, for my career and my legacy. Just getting back to myself, getting back into the win column. Pedro is a very well-rounded martial artist but I am very excited, cool, calm and collected. I am very excited to get back in there and get this win.

Q. What is your preparation like heading into this fight?

CG: My preparation was honestly nothing short than amazing, I felt that every day was a day that I got better, I pushed myself to breaking point and then I pushed past that feeling. To the stage where if the fight is going to be a hard-fought pace I will be able to push through it and get this win, however, I need it to be.

Q. If there is one fighter you could challenge in the UFC right now, who would that be?

CG: TJ is always on my mind and I definitely want to get that fight back. I feel I am a different fighter now from both of those fights, I’ve learned a lot and I’ve grown from those experiences and definitely, that saga is not over and I am looking forward to getting that rematch with him.

But whoever the UFC puts in front of me, no matter how many adversaries they put in front of me, I am looking forward to knocking them all down and await my title shot and hopefully TJ is still champion at that time and I will get my redemption.
