UFC 234: Whittaker vs Gastelum has arrived.
In the co-main event of the night, one of the most talented young up-and-coming fighters, and a future prospect of the UFC is about to put everything on the line to face his one-time hero, Anderson Silva.
Before he fights Silva, I had the opportunity to pose some questions before Israel Adesanya.

Q. Your upcoming fight against Anderson Silva is possibly the biggest of your career. What are your thoughts heading into it?
IA: It is the biggest fight of my career yet… And it’ll be one that I remember forever. But honestly, the lead up feels the same. Leading up to it is like any other fight. It is after the fight that I get to really reflect and embrace what has happened and what has transpired. So for now, I will just keep that same energy and I just roll with it.
Q. What does fighting Anderson Silva mean to you?
IA: Fighting Anderson Silva, means more to me than winning the belt. So this is what it would be like, my world title fight. I’m sure there will be the middleweight title fight after this fight but for me, this means more to me than getting the belt. Getting belt would mean, more money, more notoriety and all that kind of stuff but this for me especially me, I am really looking forward to getting past all of this, the weigh-ins and then getting to fight Anderson Silva.
Q. Darren Till has expressed interest in facing you. Would that be something you're interested in?
IA: Yeah, we talked about it me and him, we talked about it face to face. And yeah, he is already going to move up to middleweight after his next fight. He’s fighting Jorge Masvidal, he can’t be welterweight forever so I Iook forward to seeing him in this weight division in the future.
