Jake Paul's boxing coach BJ Flores hospitalized after being shot in attempted robbery

Jake Paul's head trainer, BJ Flores, had a scare recently in Columbia.

'El Peligroso' had his own boxing career, spanning from 2003 to 2018, challenging for several world titles in that time. Following his retirement, Flores has become a full-time trainer, but his biggest client is 'The Problem Child'.

The two have worked together since early 2021, as the former title challenger first began as a sparring partner. Before long, Flores was Paul's head coach, and the partnership has worked well. He's helped guide the YouTuber to a 6-1 professional boxing record, although he recently suffered his first career loss to Tommy Fury.

Almost a month on from that fight, Jake Paul and BJ Flores almost lost a lot more than a decision. The latter recently revealed that he was hospitalized after being shot in a robbery attempt in Columbia. According to Flores, he was able to push the gun away from his head but was shot once in the leg.

Recalling the events in a Twitter video, the coach stated:

“They came to the car and put the pistol right there. It’s crazy, I don’t know what to say. The pistol was right there, he yelled at me to give my wallet and my watch, everything. We were definitely targeted. They couldn’t have possibly seen my watch so we were definitely targeted. It is what it is, I’m still alive, everything’s good, I’m happy."

Was Jake Paul attacked?

Luckily, Jake Paul was not with BJ Flores and was attacked.

As of now, the head trainer appears to be the only one injured from the robbery attempt. However, it's strangely the second time in just a few short days that Team Paul has been involved in an altercation.

Earlier this week, Jake Paul attended a Miami Heat game. But it wasn't anything on the court that made headlines. Instead, it was what happened when 'The Problem Child' headed outside the venue.

According to the YouTuber, when he got outside, Floyd Mayweather was waiting for him. 'Money' and Paul have been at odds for a while now after the latter stole the legend's hat in a press conference. However, the rivalry took a turn last week.

The former champion and his entourage attempted to jump the YouTuber. While Paul was only with one security guard, Mayweather reportedly had over 20 people with him at the time.

Luckily, Jake Paul was able to leave the situation before it got worse, but it's still been a bad few weeks for the YouTuber's team.
