Aaron Brink, father of the Club Q shooter in Colorado Springs, recently spoke out against his son's actions.

Anderson Aldrich opened fire inside Club Q on Saturday night, killing five people and wounding 17 others. US Army veteran Richard Fierro was able to stop the gunman and subdued him with his own pistol.

Aaron Brink spoke to MMA journalist Al Zullino about the mass shooting and condemned his son's actions:

"There's no excuse for going and killing people. If you're killing people there's something wrong. That's just not the answer."

Former UFC fighter Brink stated that he trained his son to fight from a young age. Brink has now reflected on that decision and appears to be somewhat regretful. He said:

"I praised him for violent behavior really early. It's something that works, and it's instant and you get immediate results... Life is so fragile and it's valuable. Those people's [Club Q victims] lives were valuable. They were good people probably... I'm sorry I let my son down."

Why Aaron Brink's son, Anderson Lee Aldrich, changed his name in 2016

Aaron Brink's son, Anderson Lee Aldrich, was arrested as a suspect in the mass shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs on Saturday night.

The news came as a surprise to Brink, who thought his son was dead. In 2016, the former UFC fighter's ex-wife called to inform him that Aldrich had committed suicide. She also said that he had changed his name from Nicholas Brink to Anderson Lee Aldrich.

The reason for Aldrich's name change was apparently due to Brink's newfound career as a porn star. Brink has also had several run-ins with the law and was arrested in 2016 for attempted burglary and possession of a firearm.

When Al Zullino spoke to Aaron Brink about the reason for his son's name change, he said this:

"His mother told me he changed his name because I was on intervention and I'd been a porno-actor."

Below is a post by Brink on his Instagram, with several MMA titles he won throughout his career, including the Gladiator Challenge Heavyweight Championship.
