Adriano Moraes has nothing but positive things to say about Danny Kingad.

‘The King’ will be back in action this Friday night as ONE Championship returns to the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium for ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video. Kingad will look to get back into the win column after coming up short against Kairat Akhmetov in his last appearance. Meeting him inside the ring will be streaking Indonesian Eko Roni Saputura.

Speaking to ONE Championship before he heads back to the circle on May 5 for a highly anticipated trilogy bout with Demetrious Johnson, Adriano Moraes shared his thoughts on Danny Kingad, saying:

“Danny Kingad is a young fighter who has been evolving a lot. He’s been doing good fights and has already beaten very tough opponents.”

Moraes and Kingad are no strangers to one another, with the pair previously squaring off against one another at ONE: Legends of the World. Moraes emerged victorious that evening, scoring a first-round submission victory. Kingad responded by going on a six-fight win streak that included victories over Yuya Wakamatsu, Tatsumitsu Wada, and Reece McLaren.

Currently No. 3 in the ONE flyweight rankings, Kingad will look to inch himself closer to a ONE world title opportunity at ONE Fight Night 7, airing live and for free on Amazon Prime Video with an active subscription in North America.

Danny Kingad shocked at Demetrious Johnson’s continuous improvements

Danny Kingad had the opportunity to be one of the first fighters to welcome Demetrious Johnson to ONE Championship when the two flyweight warriors met at ONE: Century Part 1 in 2019. ‘The King’ ended up on the losing end of a unanimous decision.

Speaking about ‘Mighty Mouse’ with The MMA Superfan, Kingad marveled at how good Demetrious Johnson is and continues to get even as he enters his 17th year in combat sports:

“Of course, I’m surprised that he’s still improving. And I watched and read his interviews, and all he does is train. That’s his job, nothing else. He’s always in the gym, that's why he keeps getting stronger.”

Johnson admitted that he only has a few years left of competing. If Kingad hopes to get the opportunity to share the circle with him one more time, he’ll need to make a statement this Friday night against Eko Roni Saputra.
