Aljamain Sterling recently talked about his experiences with gambling during his college years. Sterling said that he lost all the money he had saved for the semester by betting on games like roulette and blackjack.
In an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, 'Funk Master' reflected on those past choices, saying:
"Right now, I like Vegas. Vegas is a great time... I don't gamble. So, that's the main thing. I was worried about that because I did have a bad gambling problem when I was in college as a freshman. I spent a lot of money, Ariel, with my refund checks."
When asked why he stopped, Sterling said:

"I lost a lot of money, my refund check money. [It was] probably like 3-4 grand. And that was like my money for the semester."

Aljamain Sterling says he cut hair for money due to gambling addiction
While Aljamain Sterling was facing his gambling addiction, he also took on cutting hair to earn some extra money.
In the aforementioned interview, 'Funk Master' recounted his hair-cutting experiences, saying:
"Once I realized, one, I'm going to have to pay [money] back. Two, I'm about to be broke, and that's when I started cutting hair for money... I used to cut hair for money in high school and college, and then I just kept cutting my own. It just saves me. It's a pain in the a** sometimes because, like, to wake up in the morning, have to go set everything up and clean up." [16:25]
