Allycia Hellen Rodrigues applauded Janet Todd’s toughness following their ONE Fight Night 8 co-main event showdown on Friday night.

After five rounds of intense action, Rodrigues’ earned a unanimous decision victory and reestablished herself as the queen of atomweight Muay Thai.

Following the matchup, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues was complimentary towards her opponent during an interview with the South China Morning Post, saying:

“We knew it was gonna be a hard fight, she’s a tough opponent. She came from many wins also, but we trained so hard for this moment and we came here and we showed up.”

With the victory, Rodrigues remained undefeated inside the Circle and immediately set her sights on becoming a two-division world champion. After besting ‘JT’ in the art of eight limbs, Rodrigues plans on taking Todd’s atomweight kickboxing crown, a title the American has held ever since she defeated fan-favorite Stamp Fairtex in February 2020 at ONE: King of the Jungle.

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is ready for a long-awaited rematch with Stamp Fairtex

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues holds the distinction of being one of the very few women to score a win over former two-sport ONE world champion Stamp Fairtex. The two striking sensations squared off in August 2020 at ONE: A New Breed. Going into the contest, Stamp was the reigning ONE atomweight Muay Thai titleholder, but it would be the last night that she would feel the weight of ONE gold wrapped around her waist.

Rodrigues scored a split-decision victory to capture the title that she still carries with her to this very day. Given the close scorecards handed by the judges that night, many fans hoped to see the pair run it back. Nearly three years later, that is suddenly once again a possibility.

Prior to her return at ONE Fight Night 8, Stamp Fairtex expressed her desire to face the winner in a bid to recapture the atomweight Muay Thai title. Getting wind of Stamp’s intentions, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues revealed that she is more than willing to oblige.

“Stamp [Fairtex] called me out,” Rodrigues acknowledged. “I’m going to be there. Just tell us the day and the time.”
