Anatoly Malykhin recalls experience of watching Chingiz Allazov train at the Tiger Muay Thai gym in Bangkok, Thailand

ONE Championship's two-division world champion Anatoly Malykhin witnessed the devastating impact of Chingiz Allazov’s punches from the mats at Tiger Muay Thai and from the cage side at ONE Fight Night 6.

In the main event of ONE Championship’s first event of the year, Allazov put on an incredible display to dethrone Superbon Singha Mawynn and become the new ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion. He picked up a devastating second-round knockout win.

Anatoly Malykhin, who trains at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand, was present at the event in Bangkok and had first-hand experience of just how skilled Allazov is.

Facing the pound-for-pound great Superbon, it was the challenger’s boxing pressure that got the job done. He didn’t give his opponent a second to make any reads and set up his strikes, walking him down and landing combinations that eventually led to three knockdowns.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Malykhin spoke about what he took away from watching Allazov prepare for his world championship clash at ONE Fight Night 6:

“I had already said that Chingiz is very good with the hands. He hits from all angles. I saw him the day before the fight. He was very motivated, very charged. In addition to that, he has a great coach who is doing a good job and gives the right cues during the fight.”

ONE Championship heavyweight world title unification bout set between Arjan Bhullar and Anatoly Malykhin

ONE Championship’s heavyweight division is finally set to unify the world championships held by Arjan Bhullar and the interim world champion Anatoly Malykhin. Set for March 24 at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video, this has been one of the most highly anticipated match-ups in the promotion’s history.

Since Arjan Bhullar defeated Brandon Vera to become the heavyweight champion in April 2021, he has been inactive. An arm injury in 2022 postponed his clash with Malykhin which was scheduled for September and it was postponed until the ONE heavyweight world champion was fully fit.

In Bhullar’s absence, Anatoly Malykhin has steamrolled through the heavyweight division to become the interim world champion in February 2022. The Russian has been on an unstoppable run since debuting in ONE in 2021 and has now become the ONE light heavyweight world champion by dethroning Reinier de Ridder at ONE on Prime Video 5.

All four of his wins inside the Circle have come by way of knockouts and he's picked up two performance bonuses for his highlight-reel finishes against de Ridder and Kirill Grishenko.

ONE Fight Night 8, headlined by the heavyweight world championship unification bout between Malykhin and Bhullar will be live and free for North American audiences with an active Amazon Prime subscription.
