UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has showered praise on Amanda Lemos for her impressive victory at UFC Fight Night 214.

'Funk Master' took to Twitter to commend Lemos on her performance and compared the Brazilian's strikes to anvil hammers.

"Lemos swing anvil hammers in those fists! #UFCVegas64 HUGE WIN!"

Check out the tweet below:

Lemos went toe-to-toe against Marina Rodriguez in a five-round main event at UFC Vegas 64. The fight ended in the third round when Lemos landed a barrage of strikes on her opponent and scored a TKO finish.

With the victory, the 35-year-old has strengthened her argument for a shot at the strawweight title.

In her post-fight interview, Lemos asked UFC president Dana White to place her as a back-up fighter for the upcoming strawweight title fight between Carla Esparza and Zhang Weili:

"Hey Dana, I'm here already. Put me as a backup for the title fight in New York."

Weili and Esparza will lock horns for the strawweight championship at UFC 281. The event is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York.

A middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira will headline the card. Moreover, a lightweight banger in the form of Michael Chandler vs. Dustin Poirier will also take place on the same card.

Aljamain Sterling weighs in on potential matchup against Sean O'Malley

Aljamain Sterling believes Sean O'Malley could prove to be a tough challenge for him if the two ever get matched up inside the octagon.

In a video released to his YouTube channel, 'Funk Master' spoke about the possibility of fighting O'Malley. According to Aljamain Sterling, 'Sugar' might have the advantage due to his height and long limbs:

"This would not be a super easy fight for me with O'Malley. Don't get it twisted. Don't think just because I did what I did and Yan took him [O'Malley] down that you guys think it's gonna be easy. You have to get to those positions... You have to close the gap on a guy who's so much longer than I am, and he's got the leverage."

O'Malley was recently seen in action when he took on Petr Yan at UFC 280. The fight was a thrilling back-and-forth affair that ended with a split decision victory for 'Sugar'.

With that win, the 28-year-old has made a strong case for himself to compete for the bantamweight title next.
