Arman Tsarukyan taking a dig at Justin Gaethje over retirement remarks has sparked mixed reactions from MMA fans across the world. While some agreed with Tsarukyan, mocking Gaethje, others chastised the Armenian for his time away from octagon.
Gaethje made a successful octagon return after suffering from a devastating knockout defeat against Max Holloway at the historic UFC 300 pay-per-view card. He sqaured off against Rafael Fiziev in a rematch at UFC 313 earlier this year and secured a unanimous decision win, putting him back in title contention. The former interim champion then expressed his desire to face the winner of Charles Oliveira vs. Ilia Topuria lightweight title matchup at UFC 317.
Combat sports news outlet Home of Fight reported MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz's remarks about Gaethje's decision to hang up his gloves if he wasn't given another title opportunity, which said:
''He [Justin] said, ‘If I’m not going to fight for the title, I’m just gonna hang up my gloves. I love the UFC, but I feel the UFC has to love me back.’''

When Arman Tsarukyan voiced his wish to face Justin Gaethje
Arman Tsarukyan missed his opportunity to compete for the UFC gold after suffering from a back injury prior to his title fight against Islam Makhachev at UFC 311 earlier this year.
In an appearance on the Jaxxon Podcast, Tsarukyan stated his desire to fight Justin Gaethje in a title eliminator bout, saying:
''I feel like it’s supposed to be Gaethje. It all makes sense. Oliveira fighting for the title. Gaethje has no fight. Poirier fighting with Max Holloway for the BMF title…Me and Justin [don’t] have a fight. So, it makes sense.'' [H/t: Bloody Elbow]
