Aung La N Sang ‘can’t wait’ to see Demetrious Johnson vs Adriano Moraes trilogy

Like most fight fans, former two-division ONE world champion Aung La N Sang cannot wait to see top flyweights Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes battle in their trilogy fight later this year in the United States.

Reigning ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson and former divisional top dog Moraes mix it up once again for the rubber match of their ongoing rivalry dating back to 2021. They split their first two encounters, both of which came by way of impressive knockouts.

The ONE flyweight world championship bout will headline ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5. It will be the promotion’s first-ever live on-ground event in the U.S., happening at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.

Aung La N Sang is also part of the landmark offering, taking on China’s Fan Rong in a middleweight showdown.

“The Burmese Python” recently spoke to SCMP MMA and said that apart from his own fight, he is looking forward to catching the main event of ONE Fight Night 10.

"Of course the main event. DJ I’ve got the utmost respect for, and Moraes my boy. That one is gonna be amazing man. I can’t wait, it’s a trilogy match. There were some hiccups with Adriano in the last fight with his weight and all that so I just can’t wait [to see] how this one will turn out. It’s an amazing show man, I’m telling you I’mma put on a hell of a show for you guys in America.”

Aung La N Sang, who once simultaneously held the ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world titles, has been on a roll of late, winning back-to-back matches.

Aung La N Sang reveals what he thinks makes ONE Championship fights exciting for American fans

Former two-division world champion Aung La N Sang believes the action-packed fights in ONE Championship suit the taste of American fans.

The promotion is set to hold its first-ever live on-ground event in the United States on May 5 at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, which “The Burmese Python” expects to be a hit.

Aung La N Sang shared his thoughts on why ONE fights are exciting for American fans.

“ONE Championship is exciting because it forces fighters to work for the finish. We have yellow cards, no other promotion has yellow cards, and our fights aren’t scored by 10-9 rounds. It’s scored by the entirety of the fight. It makes it more interesting for sure. And the [Muay] Thai guys, they’re aggressive guys, they always look for finishes.

“The U.S. fans are in for a treat. The whole card, I don’t see any boring fights at all. It’s going to be a great show for sure.”

Aung La N Sang is part of the landmark U.S. show, which will be headlined by the trilogy fight between reigning ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson and former division king Adriano Moraes. He will collide with China’s Fan Rong in a middleweight bout.

Aside from Demetrious Johnson, Moraes and Aung La, other ONE superstars already named to take part in the U.S. show include Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Mikey Musumeci, Stamp Fairtex, Roberto Soldic, Sage Northcutt, Reinier de Ridder, Tye Ruotolo, and Jackie Buntan.
