‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman finds himself in a potential world title eliminator at ONE on Prime Video 4 after a strong start to his career in the circle.

Currently 2-0 since joining the promotion, Loman will face his biggest test to date when he collides with former two-time bantamweight world champion Bibiano Fernandes.

On November 18, a new title challenger will likely emerge when the up-and-coming Stephen Loman faces one of the greatest champions in ONE’s history. But in an interview with the promotion, the Team Lakay representative made it clear that he is not intimidated by the stature of his opponent this time around:

“I’m looking to win in any way possible. This is a very important fight for me. If I have the chance to knock him out, I will take it. Even taking him down is not impossible. My plan is to beat him in every area.”

Bibiano Fernandes will be returning to competition for the first time since his loss to John Lineker earlier this year. Losing the belt after being knocked out in devastating fashion, Fernandes also has a lot to prove when he steps in there against rising contender Stephen Loman.

Stephen Loman doesn’t believe John Lineker used the low blow as a way out

No.5-ranked ONE bantamweight contender ‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman has shown sympathy for John Lineker after it was clear that he could not continue at ONE on Prime Video 3.

John Lineker vs. Fabricio Andrade was playing out in the kind of entertaining and thrilling fashion that many expected it to until it came to a sudden and unsatisfying end.

After hurting Lineker, Fabricio Andrade followed up with a second knee to the body. However, it landed low to the groin of the former champion with ferocious power.

Whilst some corners of fans and Fabricio Andrade himself accused John Lineker of looking for a way out after losing his world championship on the scale, Stephen Loman has come to his defense.

The Team Lakay stalwart said in an exclusive interview with The MMA-Super Fan:

“That knee strike was really unexpected and it did hit Lineker on the groin so you can’t really fault him for using up the whole recovery time. It was a low blow and even though it was an accident, you can really feel how much that hurt Lineker.”

He added:

“Yes it was unfortunate, but we really just have to accept that it’s what happened. As for the people who say that Lineker took it as a way out, well it’s their opinion.”
