It would be hard to argue against Bibiano Fernandes being considered the most dominant world champion in ONE Championship history.

In two bantamweight world title reigns, ‘The Flash’ defended the ONE bantamweight world nine times; the most in all of ONE Championship. Just days away from his long-awaited return to the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4 this Friday night, Fernandes discussed his legacy with the promotion, saying:

“I could see one thing: I was the most dominant champion in the ONE Championship. I defended the belt several times, while others who won the title in the division failed to do the same. I defended the belt 11 times, and I don't know if there will be another athlete who will be able to do what I did. I was the most dominant fighter there ever was in the ONE Championship.”

Though he is no longer the reigning world champion, the achievements of Bibiano Fernandes cannot be undone. Following a devastating knockout loss to John Lineker in February, ‘The Flash’ will look to get back on the winning track and into a world title fight with a win against rising contender Stephen Loman.

Fernandes and Loman will clash in U.S. primetime this Friday night as ONE Championship presents their fourth Amazon Prime Video event, both live and free for Prime Video subscribers.

Stephen Loman ready to get the biggest win of his MMA career against Bibiano Fernandes

For Bibiano Fernandes, a win over Stephen Loman would remind the world that ONE Championship’s most dominant world champion is still a force to be reckoned with inside the circle. On the flip side, Stephen Loman is looking to show the world that he is the newest force in the bantamweight division, not just for himself but for his team. In an interview with ONE Championship, he said:

"This is no doubt the biggest fight of my career. If I can beat a legend like Bibiano Fernandes, it will prove to everyone that Team Lakay fighters are world-class. Kuya Kevin has done it in the past, now it’s my turn. I will beat him."

Team Lakay teammate Kevin Belingon was one of only two men to hand Fernandes a loss inside the circle, though it should be noted that the win came via a split decision. As one of the biggest rivalries in ONE history, Fernandes and Belingon squared off on four separate occasions, with ‘The Flash’ coming out on top in three of those instances.

Can Stephen Loman get Team Lakay’s second victory over Bibiano Fernandes or will ‘The Flash’ once again show the world why he is one of ONE’s most celebrated athletes?
