MMA fans have been reacting after Alex Pereira recently shed some details about his upcoming movie role. The Brazilian is set to make his acting debut in the upcoming action thriller 'Onslaught', where he will play the role of a villain named 'The Butcher'.
Since making his UFC debut in 2021, 'Poatan' has quickly become one of the biggest combat sports stars in the world. In just 10 fights in the promotion, Pereira has both won and lost the middleweight title, captured the light heavyweight belt and successfully defended it on three occasions.
While details surrounding the film remain scarce, Pereira recently opened up about his role whilst speaking on the Podpah podcast. According to Pereira, his character doesn't have lines but he will be in the entire movie:
"I'm going to act but I'm doing something where I don't have to speak... It's going to be like the Terminator where he only says one word at the end. I'll be there from the beginning to the end and I'm going to say 'CHAMA'."

Dricus du Plessis predicts potential Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev bout
UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis recently weighed in on Alex Pereira's potential upcoming clash against Magomed Ankalaev.
Ankalaev all but assured himself as the next contender to the Brazilian's title with his victory over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 308. While nothing has been confirmed yet, it's believed the Russian will now face Pereira for the light heavyweight title in early 2025.
In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, 'Stillknocks' offered his take on the bout and gave his prediction. According to du Plessis, despite Ankalaev's fine form in the octagon, he can't bet against Pereira. He said:
"Ankalaev... you know, has good good defense and he has good ground game and he has all that. We don't know what happens when Ankalaev takes Pereira down... Alex Pereira is an absolute machine. The man is, yeah right now hard to deny him as one of the greatest fighters in the UFC for sure. So you know I can't go against him at this stage unless he fights."
