Fans could possibly see former two-time UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez fight at an upcoming wrestling event.

The former UFC heavyweight champ was detained in February for allegedly trying to shoot Harry Goularte, who was suspected of abusing the fighter's 4-year-old son. Velasquez was recently granted a $ 1 million bail after being in custody for nearly eight months.

According to a report by Marc Raimondi, Cain Velasquez’s team has been in communication with legal authorities. The former UFC heavyweight champ is looking to wrestle at the Lucha Libre AAA show at the Mullett Arena at Arizona State University, Tempe.

'Cardio Cain' is expected to make an appearance on December 3rd if the fight comes to fruition. Taking to his official Twitter handle, Raimondi wrote:

"Per sources, Cain Velasquez’s team has been discussing since last week the possibility of him wrestling on the Lucha Libre AAA show next month in Arizona with the promotion. Still needs approval by the court to do so. But if he gets it, the expectation is he will perform Dec. 3"
"Velasquez performing on that show has added meaning for him. The card will take place in Tempe at Mullett Arena, which is at Arizona State University — where Velasquez was a two-time All-American college wrestler."

Daniel Cormier comments on close friend Cain Velasquez's recent release on bail

Daniel Cormier recently appeared on a recent edition of The MMA Hour with Ariel Hewani. He spoke about his former training partner and close friend's recent release from jail on a $1 million bail.

'DC' revealed that Velasquez seemed happy and relieved to see his family after spending almost eight months behind bars. On Velasquez's release, Cormier had this to say:

“He’s happy, because there were some times where he and I sat, and we visited, and we’re just talking about life and what his life became in there. You’ve got to start to adjust. I think one of the most telling things that Cain told me when we were in there, he goes, ‘As I sit here and I’m eating this food, and I’m taking stuff from the commissary, and I’m trying to live, I think back to my pantry, and I can’t imagine I can have any of this, whenever I want it… Because it was so limited in there. So I’m just happy for him to be back.”’
