Top bantamweight contender Sean O'Malley recently chimed in with his thoughts on the rumored bantamweight title fight between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo.

Dominance MMA's Ali Abdelaziz recently reported that Henry Cejudo would make his comeback against Aljamain Sterling for the UFC bantamweight title.

While Sterling has denied such rumors in the past, there was a recent face-off between the two during the 2022 PFL championships in New York City.

Giving his take on the potential title fight, 'Sugar' asserted that the fight would "pretty much" be confirmed by the promotion soon.

Speaking of the matchup, O'Malley feels Sterling is a little hesitant about fighting 'Triple C'. The No. 1 ranked bantamweight contender said:

"Henry [Cejudo] is ready to go. I believe that. I think Henry is wanting to fight. 'Aljo' [Sterling] doesn't want that fight is what I'm seeing. I don't know if he doesn't want that fight because he thinks it's a tough matchup, or he doesn't want that fight because he doesn't want to get back into fight camp."

Furthermore, the 28-year-old stated that their [Cejudo vs. Sterling] press conferences would be "cringy" if the fight took place, referring to their recent face-off at the PFL event:

"Can you imagine how cringy those press conferences are gonna be? I've never watched a fight where some people are...it's just that cringy. It's so cringy that it's entertaining."

Boxing does more damage to athletes than MMA, according to Sean O'Malley

Sean O'Malley claimed on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience that boxers are prone to a lot more physical damage than MMA fighters due to their grueling sparring sessions.

According to 'Sugar', hours of sparring can lead to exhaustion, which in turn might lead to accumulated damage to a boxer's body:

"You spar Monday, Wednesday, Friday, three times a week hard. I think a lot of the damage is in sparring and then you go in there and get dropped, get back up, get an eight-count, get dropped again... I think it's probably a mixture between how hard those motherf**kers spar and the accumulation of getting hit in the head. It's hard to watch."
