Chael Sonnen recently shared what impresses him the most about former UFC double champ Conor McGregor and how it has nothing to do with his skills in the octagon.

Sonnen posted a video on his Twitter account where he complimented the Irishman. He mentioned that the quality that impresses him most about 'The Notorious' is his loyalty to the same group of people:

"All the things I could compliment Conor, my number-one is his loyalty. I could not tell you how many guys I have seen that came from a little quiet environment, made it on top, and then left. 'I'm too big now, the contracts are too big now, the training is too big now, the stakes are too high now. I need somebody else. Somebody else has the answers."

'The American Gangster' continued by bringing up McGregor's loyalty to his teammates and coaches at Straight Blast Gym. He mentioned that it's nice to see that the former two-division champion has continued to believe in them and hopes the younger fighters replicate that:

"The one thing McGregor's done that you can take all these young guys, if you could teach them, man, it wasn't the walk, it wasn't the talk, it wasn't the sunglasses, it wasn't the tattoos, it wasn't the suits, it was that right there [loyalty]. That's the thing."

Although McGregor's trash talk and ability to generate interest in a fight is something that Sonnen has been clamoring for more fighters to do more of, it's great to see that there are other qualities that still go a long way.

Chael Sonnen says the Nogueira brothers never forgave him for his bus story

Chael Sonnen has had plenty of memorable interviews and press conferences throughout his MMA career, but one interview caused a rift with the Nogueira brothers, who still haven't forgiven him.

During his appearance on the FLAGRANT podcast with comedian Andrew Schultz, 'The American Gangster' spoke about the famous bus story he shared in a past interview with Ariel Helwani. He mentioned that even though the Brazilian legends seem to be fine when asked in public, it is a different situation when they're all in private:

"I know the exact piece you're referring to, it was a Q and A and he handled it so cool. He sounded like such a cool guy. So that's in front...behind the scenes, he's one of the coldest guys to me. He will not say hello when I see him in person, he frowns." [47:33 - 47:47]

It remains to be seen whether the Nogueira brothers will ever change their stance as it pertains to Sonnen. His former rival Wanderlei Silva, who got into a fight while they were coaching The Ultimate Fighter, even stated that his opinion has changed and that he respects him.
