Reigning ONE featherweight MMA world champion Tang Kai isn't worried about his opponent when he steps inside the ONE Championship ring this weekend to defend his gold.

Tang believes his opponent Akbar Abdullaev's only dangerous trait is the way he puts his punches together.

When asked what he thought Abdullaev's biggest strength was, Tang told ONE Championship:

Tang is set to defend his ONE featherweight MMA world title against Abdullaev.

The two go to war in the main event of ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs. Abdullaev on Prime Video, which broadcasts live in U.S. primetime from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, Jan. 10.

Tang Kai has tunnel vision heading into his next world title defense. He is confident he can get the job done against unbeaten Akbar Abdullaev at ONE Fight Night 27 on Prime Video, and then move on to bigger and better fights later this year.

Tang told the world's largest martial arts organization:

"For now, I just want to win my first title defense in 2025, and I hope to compete more in this year, hoping for two to three fights."
