Reigning ONE lightweight champion Christian Lee will attempt to become a two-division champion at ONE on Prime Video 4. He feels that the promotion is helping to bring life back to the sport of MMA in Japan.

'The Warrior' is scheduled to headline the upcoming event against welterweight champion Kiamrian Abbasov in what is one of the most anticipated bouts of the year.

Through incredible fighters like Shinya Aoki, Yushin Okami, and many others, the MMA scene in Japan is being revitalized. Christian Lee recently spoke with ONE Championship and said:

“I think ONE Championship is greatly helping to bring the sport back to life, to the way that it was back in the Pride days. There were a lot of hardcore fans that loved watching Pride. And when the organization got bought out, it really died down a lot. So yeah, I think that [ONE 163] is going to be a great night for the Japanese fighters, helping to bring that back to life in Japan.”

Christian Lee has always wanted to be a double-champ

The 24-year-old phenom has always had high goals for himself, one of which is becoming a simultaneous two-division world champion. Lee discussed the topic in a conversation with The MMA Superfan:

"Personally, it’s always been a goal of mine to become a double champ. Since I joined the promotion, since I started my career in MMA, my goal was first to become a world champion and second to become a double champion in two divisions."

After turning pro and joining ONE at the age of 18, Lee has racked up 16 victories in 20 fights. His most notable wins have come against names like Kazunori Yokota, Shinya Aoki, Iuri Lapicus, and Timofey Nastyukhin, amongst several others.

A contentious unanimous decision loss to Ok Rae Yoon ended Lee's six-fight win streak, but he quickly avenged the defeat and regained his lightweight belt.

Be sure to watch Christian Lee attempt to become a double-champion against Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18 (US primetime), live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
