UFC bantamweight fighter Cody Garbrandt will now square off against Trevin Jones at UFC 285 on March 4, as Julio Arce has withdrawn due to injury.

According to well-known MMA journalist and writer Brett Okamoto, the former UFC bantamweight champion will now face Trevin Jones. The former champ was scheduled to face Julio Arce. However, Arce withdrew his candidature citing an injury.

Garbrandt was supposed to face Rani Yahya twice in 2022, however Yahya backed out of both fights, leaving Garbrandt without a match since December 2021.

In his most recent fight, 'No Love' was defeated by Kai Kara-France via first-round TKO in his flyweight debut. The Arce fight was supposed to be Garbrandt's return to bantamweight, where he won the UFC gold in 2016.

However, Trevin Jones, who is on a three-fight losing skid, will grasp the opportunity to showcase his ability to face an opponent of Cody Garbrandt's caliber.

Cody Garbrandt at flyweight division

Cody 'No Love' Garbrandt is all geared up to compete again at flyweight after a series of setbacks.

However, his highly anticipated flyweight debut was ruined when he was knocked out in the first round by the division's best Kai Kara France in 2021.

Garbrandt was set to make his flyweight debut against Deiveson Figueiredo, but he was forced to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19. The former bantamweight champion has dealt with multiple outside-of-the-cage misfortunes in recent years, including severe viral symptoms, spine and kidney ailments, and missed his UFC 255 championship battle with Figueiredo in November.

It's been eight years since Cody Garbrandt made his UFC debut on January 3, 2015, at UFC 182, and Garbrandt made his professional debut against Marcus Brimage. He won the bout in the third round via TKO.

Garbrandt has only won one fight since his stunning performance against Dominick Cruz in 2016, and that was at UFC 250 against Raphael Assuncao. He has been defeated in five fights since winning the UFC bantamweight title.
