Conor McGregor has joked about a potential rematch against Max Holloway.

‘The Notorious’ has become an expert in deleting his Twitter posts shortly after posting them. McGregor’s latest video featured the former two-division UFC champion calling out Holloway in a satirical fashion. The Dublin native was at a restaurant and started recording someone he believed looked like ‘Blessed.’ He had this to say in the since-deleted video:

“Oh my god. Oh my god, you guys. Omg, it’s Max Holloway. Max, bro, what’s up? Hahaha… I’ll see you for that second fight, yeah? See ya at the press conference. You’re taking everything I’ve worked for, motherf***er. I’ll fight your f***ing a**...”

McGregor fought ‘Blessed’ in his second UFC fight at UFC Fight Night 26. ‘The Notorious’ made a statement by taking out the young Hawaiian by unanimous decision.

The second half of McGregor’s quote was an impersonation of Nate Diaz’s legendary callout at UFC on FOX 17. Meanwhile, ‘The Notorious’ was likely joking about fighting Holloway, but he does need an opponent for his Octagon return.

The 34-year-old former UFC champion last fought in July 2021. McGregor lost his second consecutive fight against Dustin Poirier and suffered a severe leg injury. He plans to return in 2023, but no official opponent has been announced.

Max Holloway responds to Conor McGregor’s funny social media video

Max Holloway suffered his third loss to Alexander Volkanovski in July 2022. The 31-year-old now seems more focused on creating big-money opportunities compared to title fights. Although Conor McGregor was likely joking, Holloway responded to his social media video. ‘Blessed’ had this to say on Twitter:

“Hahahah see you at the press conference indeed”

Holloway has been at a weird spot in his career. ‘Blessed’ has solidified his legacy but also proved there’s more in the tank against Yair Rodriguez and Calvin Kattar. With that said, the 31-year-old hasn’t been a common opponent discussed for McGregor’s return.

‘The Notorious’ has various options for his next opponent, including Michael Chandler, Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje, Nate Diaz, and more. Before making his Octagon return, the former two-division UFC champion needs to be cleared by USADA. The drug-testing agency requires six months of clean samples, but the Dublin native hopes to get an exemption.
