Irish sports stars Conor McGregor and Roy Keane's popularity in the country was made apparent by a recent cyber security study on the Irish population's passwords.

In a study conducted by CyberSkills, a pioneer in Ireland's cybersecurity education, both the former UFC double champ McGregor and Manchester United legend Keane's names featured heavily in a massive sample size of 613 million passwords from hacked accounts across various social media platforms, emails, and banking accounts.

Conor McGregor has always been proud of his Irish nationality and often wore the flag on his walkout to the octagon. His distinct accent and mic skills added to his Irish persona.

Roy Keane is the joint most successful Irish footballer of all time, having won 19 major club trophies including the English Premier League seven times. The hardy midfielder also captained Manchester United for eight years and made 67 appearances for the national team.

Dr. Hazel Murray, a lecturer in cyber security at Munster Technological University which is affiliated with CyberSkills, discussed the study and urged Irish people to set longer passwords with less usage of popular names associated with Ireland.

She encouraged the use of more personally memorable words. She said:

"If you look at an Irish set of passwords, you can tell immediately because like names of places, they're really predictable basically. And the problem is that an attacker will know where you're from. So if someone's trying to guess your password. It's not hard for them to know you're from Ireland and guess something that's like Irish. Making a sentence, but not using like a common phrase or quote, but something that's memorable for you. Make it as long as possible with a few different words in it". [h/t The Sun]

Michael Chandler believes Conor McGregor is "afraid" to face him

Conor McGregor has not fought since 2021 after a string of losses against Dustin Poirier.

The former lightweight champ was expected to make his return this year against Michael Chandler. The two were slated to coach opposing teams on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter and then face off in the finale.

However, even after the show ended, there is still no update on their matchup. Michael Chandler believes Conor McGregor wishes to avoid him by stalling. He posted on X:

"You ever realize how @TheNotoriousMMA stays silent on social about me. Telltale sign, he’s smart, he’d rather find a lesser opponent. He’s waiting for me to move on. It’s too late to be scared man. Can’t remain afraid kid."
