Danial Williams looking forward to a future matchup with Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks rematch

Australian-Thai fighter 'Mini T' Danial Williams was left impressed by the strawweight world title battle between 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks and 'The Passion' Joshua Pacio.

Over a five-round war, US-born wrestler Brooks was able to capture the ONE strawweight world championship against long-reigning former king Pacio. The two fighters mixed it up on the ground and on the feet.

Top-five-ranked Danial Williams was watching closely as he is looking to face one of these fighters in a shot at the throne in the future. In an interview with ONE Championship, Williams discussed his future endeavors and explained:

"I would love to fight those boys too in the future, man. They’re in the pinnacle, right? They’re good everywhere, striking and dominant on the ground. It just made it really exciting to see holes in both of their games. It keeps me motivated, seeing them fight and know it’s there for the taking."

'Mini T' had a hugely busy 2022. The MMA and Muay Thai fighter managed to break into the top five with an impressive 3-1 record over the calendar year. Despite a loss in his most recent bout, he is still looking to fight for the world title in the future.

Danial Williams is happy with his MMA success in 2022

In 2021, Danial Williams had just one bout. He was determined to bounce back in the following year, competing in four bouts over a 12-month period.

Speaking to ONE Championship, the Australian-Thai athlete said:

“It was busy, man. A big learning year. I impressed some with my performances and disappointed some with my last one. It was good to be active, that was what I wanted. I’m very blessed to be active and get fights.”

In 2021, Williams had a war against the reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon. Williams followed this up with three wins in 2022 against Zelang Zhaxi, Namiki Kawahara, and Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, plus a singular loss to Jeremy Miado.

'Mini T' Danial Williams is working his way up for a shot at the strawweight crown but understands that it's all about the journey. Williams is aiming to collect more wins for a future showdown against the current strawweight king Jarred Brooks.
