As the end of 2022 approaches, Danial Williams has been reflecting on the last 12 months of his career. While his year may have ended with a loss to Jeremy Miado, Williams still has a lot of positives that he can take with him into 2023.
Prior to his fight with Miado at ONE on Prime Video 3, Williams won three consecutive bouts this year to solidify himself as a contender in the strawweight division.
Although he has competed in various striking disciplines within ONE Championship, he has his eyes set on becoming an MMA world champion.
Though it may not have happened for him this year, ‘Mini T’ has set himself up for a big 2023. In an interview with ONE Championship, Danial Williams looked back on his year fondly:
“The goal was to get as many fights as I could. Like I said, I always had a three-year plan coming into ONE. Got two years now. My three-year plan was the MMA title and in between was a striking title. I think everything is still going to plan. I’m confident with how everything has gone. Didn’t finish the year like I planned, but I learned from it as well.”

Rodtang Jitmuangnon is a Muay Mat style fighter, which means he is primarily a puncher. 'Mini T' Williams stood in the pocket and exchanged punches with him, something most opponents of Rodtang are unwilling to do.
While Rodtang was able to get the best of their exchanges as the better striker, Williams earned a lot of fans due to his gutsy performance. Even when he was getting hit, he always fired back and kept bringing the fight.
