After four consecutive mixed martial arts bouts, Australian fighter Danial Williams will return to Muay Thai for his next match later this month.

'Mini T' will take on Rui Botelho of Portugal in a featured strawweight Muay Thai showdown at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video. The event is set for March 24 in Singapore.

The contest will mark Danial Williams’ return to the sport for the first time since his ONE Championship debut in April 2021. Then, he figured in an absolute war against ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

While he has not competed in Muay Thai of late, the Scrappy MMA affiliate always knew he would return to the sport every now and then. That's in line with his push to earn multiple world titles in various combat sports disciplines.

Botelho, for his part, has been trying hard to find his footing in ONE since debuting in 2018. He hopes to catch a break in his showdown with Danial Williams.

ONE Fight Night 8 will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and will be bannered by the unification world title bout between reigning ONE heavyweight world champion 'Singh' Arjan Bhullar of India and interim world champion Anatoly 'Sladkiy' Malykhin of Russia.

The event will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

Danial Williams is eyeing two ONE Championship world title belts in 2023

Australian striker Danial Williams expects a busy 2023, during which he hopes to lay his hands on two ONE Championship world title belts.

Having had a full 2022 with four mixed martial arts fights, 'Mini T' has set his sights on winning gold in Muay Thai and kickboxing, while also redeeming himself in MMA this year.

Williams told ONE Championship:

“I definitely want the [ONE strawweight] Muay Thai belt. I feel that’s mine for the taking this year. In a perfect world, it would be a Muay Thai world title fight, then a [champion]-versus-champion fight with kickboxing, and then the [Jeremy] Miado rematch. That would be the ultimate 2023.”

The ONE strawweight Muay Thai world title is currently in the possession of Italian striker Joseph 'The Hurricane' Lasiri. The strawweight gold in kickboxing, meanwhile, is kept by Canada's Jonathan Di Bella.

Danial Williams is also bent on a rematch with Filipino strawweight Jeremy Miado, who dealt him his lone defeat in MMA in 2022.
