Danielle Kelly is a world-class Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner who is gearing up for her third appearance inside the circle. Ahead of it, the American has claimed that she'll be several steps ahead of her upcoming opponent when they meet at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.

The Silver Fox BJJ affiliate is scheduled to face Japan's Ayaka Miura, who is taking part in her first submission grappling match for ONE Championship.

Kelly is far and away the more experienced grappler, which she believes will lead to a submission victory over Miura. She told The MMA Superfan:

"You know, if she’s trying to learn defense on leglocks or offense on leglocks, I’m gonna be 10 steps ahead of her. I think the only thing that I would be careful of is to not give her the tools that she wants, and that’s doing a headlock, doing a kimura from an armbar. But she knows that if it goes anywhere else, it’s going to be my world."

Danielle Kelly is coming off of her first victory inside the circle, submitting Mariia Molchanova last November. The 27-year-old is helping to bring a lot of positive attention to the sport of submission grappling.

Danielle Kelly grateful to be a trailblazer in building jiu-jitsu's culture under ONE Championship

Rising grappling stars like Kelly, the Ruotolo brothers, and Mikey Musumeci are doing a phenomenal job of bringing more fans and attention to their sport.

The New Jersey native relishes the opportunity to be a trailblazer in building jiu-jitsu's culture. In the same interview, she said:

"I’m at a part of my life right now where I’m making changes, making a first time for everything. I wasn’t really happy with my first match, but the fact that it was the first female grappling match in ONE Championship is a huge accomplishment for me. And it feels like I’m in a spot where I can push the sport, especially for females and little girls, kids. I think it’s given me a lot of outlook in life."

Kelly is hoping to join Kade Ruotolo and Musumeci in securing a submission grappling world title under ONE Championship's banner.

Be sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 7 on February 24 to watch Danielle Kelly square off with Ayaka Miura, live from the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand.
