Submission grappler Danielle Kelly has never been one to be quiet about calling her shot.

The 27-year-old has made a name for herself by taking on challengers of all kinds, and since arriving in ONE Championship, she has had a hit list of people she wants to compete with.

During her run in ONE Championship, Kelly has competed against a former women’s atomweight world title challenger and a sambo world champion. Next, she is set to face a relatively bigger opponent in former women’s strawwweight world title challenger Ayaka Miura at ONE Fight Night 7 on February 24.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Danielle Kelly expressed her desire to compete against a fellow BJJ practitioner for a change:

“I've called out Jessa Khan. We're jiu-jitsu people. She's more accomplished than me. We fought before. To be honest, I feel like if you watched my matches a year ago or two years ago, I'm definitely, pretty different. I've definitely just been preparing. I want to have girls like her. And she signed with ONE so I think that match is the appropriate match to make.”

Kelly first faced Jessa Khan in February 2021 and is keen to run that one back to showcase the developments in her game.

Danielle Kelly offers her prediction on how she will finish Ayaka Miura at ONE Fight Night 7

At ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video, Danielle Kelly will return to competition in a matchup that she believes will be difficult to get a submission in.

Facing Japanese judo specialist Ayaka ‘Zombie’ Miura, Kelly will need her entire arsenal of tricks, traps, and submission threats on February 24 if she is going to get a finish. Her fight with the Japanese standout will be broadcast live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon subscribers across North America.

Danielle Kelly is known for her aggressive style as she always pushes to find a way to get her opponents out of there, which is rewarded by ONE’s submission grappling ruleset.

In an interview with the promotion, Kelly called her shot for this upcoming contest:

“I’d be submitting her. I would like to get a choke. I think leg locks are starting to be overrated, but I mean, if I get a leg lock then I'll just go for it, but I don't want to just have tunnel vision on it.”

Stepping inside the circle for a third time, Kelly hasn’t put a foot wrong so far under the ONE Championship banner. Whilst she was unable to get the submission win in her first contest, she corrected that last time out when she defeated Mariia Molchanova in just over two minutes.
