Deiveson Figueiredo plans on becoming a two-division UFC champion one day.

The reigning flyweight champion has struggled to make 125lbs in the past but feels like he has made the necessary changes to remain at flyweight.

Figueiredo recently appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, where he spoke about his upcoming fourth bout against Brandon Moreno at UFC 283. The flyweight champion spoke about eventually testing himself at bantamweight but revealed what's stopping him from pursuing a second title:

"I want to go up a division, up to bantamweight. I want to fight with the bantamweight champion. But only if Henry Cejudo is not the champion. If Cejudo gets the belt, I won't fight Cejudo because Cejudo is my brother, he's helped me when I needed it, and I can't fight him." [13:30 - 13:50]

When asked whether he has a timeline for the move to bantamweight, 'Deus da Guerra' mentioned that he intends to become a double champion but isn't sure whether he will move to 135lbs this year:

"I want to test myself in the bantamweight [division]. I won't leave it for a long time... I'm just gonna try to test myself and be a double champion. But I don't know when...now, or maybe next year... My focus right now is on my fight [with Moreno] and on keeping the belt of my division." [14:26 - 14:48]

Regardless of whether Henry Cejudo becomes the bantamweight champion or not, there are still plenty of intriguing matchups for Figueiredo at 135 lbs. Based on what he has accomplished, he would surely get matched up with a top-ranked opponent at bantamweight right away.

Deiveson Figueiredo believes he is in the best shape of his career

Deiveson Figueiredo is confident ahead of his historic fourth bout against Brandon Moreno. The flyweight champion regained his title last year at UFC 270 after earning a unanimous decision win against Moreno.

During his appearance on The MMA Hour, 'Deus da Guerra' mentioned that he believes he is in the best shape of his career. He told Ariel Helwani that he has felt great both physically and mentally throughout his weight cut:

"This time in my diet, my body is very well. I feel healthy, I'm feeling very happy. I can hang out with my team, with my family. I have a lot of energy to be there." [11:00 - 11:11]

It will be interesting to see how the reigning flyweight champion performs, as it sounds like this weight cut hasn't been as grueling as the ones in his past fights.
