Denis Puric believes that the flyweight Muay Thai division could have two top contenders emerge at ONE Fight Night 26. There has always been some top talent in this weight class but recent events have created a lot of opportunity. At ONE 169 last month, long-reigning world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon was stripped of his title after he failed to make weight and pass his hydration test. With a potential move to bantamweight coming in the future for 'The Iron Man', one of the other contenders could seize the throne. On Dec. 6 at Lumpinee Stadium, two elite-level flyweight Muay Thai clashes are set to take place on a stacked card. On one side of a hypothetical bracket is Puric who will take on the dangerous finisher Elias Mahmoudi in a fight that is guaranteed to deliver. Also on the card is a clash of two of the best strikers in Thailand right now with Kongthoranee facing off with Nakrob Fairtex. In a fight-week interview with the Bangkok Post, Puric said that he could see the winner of his fight facing the victor of the all-Thai clash on the same night:"100 percent. Both guys are super tough, very talented, and technical. I think the winner of that fight and the winner of my fight with Elias probably will be fighting for the title."Watch the full interview below:Denis Puric has been campaigning for opportunities like thisDenis Puric has had his mind set on testing himself against the very best in the world. He's already done that in 2024 with a win over Jacob Smith and a fight-of-the-year contender with Rodtang in kickboxing at ONE 167.Elias Mahmoudi is another one of the top contenders at flyweight right now so beating him will leave no doubts that Puric has to be in the title picture.
