Nate Diaz is known for his fearless persona in the MMA world. Despite walking away from the UFC earlier this year, his name is still relevant.

Diaz fought 27 times in the UFC and managed to win 16 of his outings, losing 11 times in the organization. This record includes Diaz's victory against Manny Gamburyan in The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale.

The vast majority of Diaz's losses came against high-level opposition, with the Stockton-born fighter losing against the likes of Conor McGregor, Rafael dos Anjos, Jorge Masvidal, and Leon Edwards during his UFC career.

Diaz surprisingly never managed to secure UFC gold, but scored notable wins against Conor McGregor, Donald Cerrone, Anthony Pettis, and most recently Tony Ferguson.

Nate Diaz is now officially a free agent as he chose not to renew his contract with UFC after UFC 279, which was the last fight on his contract.

It's currently unknown where the former UFC fighter will compete next, but it would seem likely that Diaz would transition into boxing.

Many MMA fighters have made the switch to influencer boxing, with the likes of Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley both fighting YouTuber Jake Paul in the boxing ring after leaving the UFC.

Who was the first fighter to beat Nate Diaz in the UFC?

Nate Diaz started out well in the UFC, winning his first five fights in the organization.

However, Diaz suffered his first UFC defeat against Clay Guida in his sixth organizational outing at UFC 94: St-Pierre vs. Penn 2 in 2009.

Guida managed to beat the Stockton-born fighter via split decision. Diaz also lost his next bout against Joe Stevenson. The back-to-back decision losses meant the American needed a good result against Melvin Guillard at UFC Fight Night 19, and he did just that, winning via submission in round two.

Nate Diaz ended his UFC career with a win against Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 but lost two out of his last three fights in the organization. Both Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal managed to beat Diaz in the latter stages of his career.

However, against Leon Edwards (the now-reigning welterweight champion), Diaz rocked his foe in the final round of a fight he was losing. Immediately afterward, he did something that only a Diaz brother can be capable of.
