Dillon Danis has denied the reported reason for his boxing match against KSI falling through.

Danis was supposed to make his combat sports return against the famous YouTuber-turned-boxer on January 14. Despite continuously denying that he would withdraw from the fight, ‘El Jefe’ withdrew from the boxing match a week before the Misfits event. Boxing reporter Michael Benson provided an update by saying this on Twitter:

“KSI's manager Mams Taylor on Dillon Danis pulling out: "The real reason from what they [his team] said to me is he's underprepared, has no coach, might be struggling with weight even though there's no rehydration, he has not been able to find a team and he's got other issues."

Danis responded to these allegations by replying on Twitter with:

“fake news”

Regardless of his reasoning, Danis still pulled out of the fight, leaving KSI without an opponent. The YouTuber posted a positive response for his fans on Twitter by saying:

“The show must go on. I’m still fighting January 14th”

Luckily, KSI had a backup plan. The 29-year-old is now boxing famous video game player Faze Temperr on January 14. Although the YouTuber is expected to dominate, this fight is better than nothing.

Fans roast Dillon Danis for pulling out of his boxing match against KSI

Dillon Danis had a chance to prove that he’s committed to being a professional fighter. Unfortunately, he’s shown that his focus is to become a social media personality instead. While Danis denied reports of why he pulled out against KSI, fans stormed the comment section with insults, including some saying:

“You a clown we all knew you’d back out you scared of getting knocked out by @KSI”
“you’re afraid. did all that talk? lil bro scared.”
“You keep this up you going be bartending at Applebees champ”
“We all knew you weren’t gonna fight you’re soft.”

‘El Jefe’ last fought in 2019, extending his pro-MMA record to 2-0, with both wins coming via first-round submission in Bellator. Since then, Danis has been recovering from two knee surgeries while continuing to trash-talk other active fighters. The 29-year-old still has an opportunity to make his Bellator return, but the interest seems to be declining.
