Early Life and Career
Danis, who was born and raised in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey, started wrestling as a freshman at Parsippany Hills High School even though he "couldn't perform one pushup." After getting into a fight at school when he was 15, he began learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Danis began traveling to Marcelo Garcia's academy in New York when he was 17 years old, and at age 19, he finally relocated there to aggressively pursue a career in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. When he was 19 years old, he received his black belt as a result of victories at numerous elite events.
When Danis was invited to serve as a coach at UFC fighter Conor McGregor's training camp in 2016, the mixed martial arts community took notice of him.
Dillon Danis’ Career in Bellator MMA
Danis was slated to face Kyle Walker in his MMA debut at Bellator 198 in 2018. In the opening round of the bout, Danis won via a toe-hold submission.
Max Humphreys was Danis' next opponent at Bellator 222 at a catchweight of 175lbs. Danis triumphed over Humphreys via an armbar submission in the very first round.
Unfortunately, Danis suffered a knee injury which resulted in him being inactive as a fighter for over two years.
