Joe Rogan recently stated on the JRE podcast that he believes Petr Yan did enough to beat Sean O'Malley last weekend. However, the podcaster also stated that the fight was a close one.

O'Malley won via a controversial split decision after three thrilling rounds of fighting against 'No Mercy'. Both fighters had their moments on the feet, but Yan largely dominated the American on the ground. While speaking about the UFC 280 bout, Joe Rogan stated:

"It was a very close fight, and he [O'Malley] definitely hurt Petr [Yan] on multiple occasions, caught him with that big knee, rocked him. I’m not denying that I thought Petr Yan won, because I did think he won at the end of it."

What has Joe Rogan stated about the UFC's scoring system after the controversial UFC 280 result?

While speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan aired his disapproval of the current UFC scoring system. The commentator feels that the organization is limited due to the use of the 10-point must scoring system.

Roe ogan went on to state that he feels the current 10-point system is good for boxing but doesn't work for MMA and would like to see a more comprehensive system used in the sport.

The commentator stated:

"I feel we are very limited by this 10-9, this 10-point must scoring system. Because someone can win a round 10-9 and it can be a very close round and someone can win a round clearly and it can be 10-9. And that doesn't make any sense to me."
