In an unfortunate turn of events, Dana White's Power Slap League has concluded its run on TBS. Warner Media and TBS executives confirmed to MMA Fighting earlier this week that after the season finale this past Wednesday, the network will no longer air the Power Slap League.

This development comes at a time when there has been mounting public outcry about the brutality of slap-fighting. The decline in viewership and the debut of AEW's All Access fueled initial concerns that White's latest venture might be dropped by TBS.

Regardless of what has transpired, Dana White has already found a new home for the Power Slap League. Prior to TBS' announcement, White had signed an agreement in principle with Rumble for a full-time transition to the streaming platform. White also revealed his plans to relocate the Power Slap League to Abu Dhabi for the second season during a press conference following the conclusion of the first season:

"I know the formula for this stuff now. We’re going to move fast. I’ve got a two-year deal with Rumble... The Abu Dhabi deal, we’re still working it out with them. But I’d love to do two seasons with them, do Season 2 and Season 3 over there."

Rumble is a video platform headquartered in Toronto, Canada, that positions itself as a conservative alternative to YouTube. Earlier this year, in January, the platform reportedly signed a seven-figure, multi-year podcast agreement with Donald Trump Jr. In accordance with the terms of the deal, Trump Jr. will host a biweekly podcast titled Triggered with Don Jr.

The Trump Media and Technology Group (TMGT), established by the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced in 2021 that it would be partnering with Rumble on a comprehensive technology and cloud services arrangement. Furthermore, they stated that the companies are in exclusive discussions to introduce a paid streaming service called TMGT+.

Additionally, in August 2022, Truth Social, Donald Trump's social media network, was revealed as Rumble's first publisher on the company's advertising platform.

Dana White sheds light on why Power Slap League is safer than boxing

UFC President Dana White has steadfastly defended his latest venture, the Power Slap League, despite heavy public condemnation.

Fans have labeled the format "barbaric" and claimed that it cannot be called a sport. They find it difficult to find any sort of entertainment in the format due to the lack of any substantial demonstration of talent or technique beyond sheer brute strength.

Dana White, however, did not endorse this assessment. In a recent interview with Newsmax, White claimed that Power Slap athletes face less punishment per event compared to boxers:

"Let me tell you this, so in boxing [in] an average fight, a boxer takes four-to-six hundred punches, and that doesn't include the punches he took sparring getting ready for the fight. These guys take three or less slaps per event."
