Doug Coltrane does not exactly have the warmest feelings toward David Mundell, having thrown down last Fall against one another in bare-knuckle boxing. Coltrane will return to the ring for the first time since that Mundell fight and does so tomorrow night. This will take place at BKFC Kansas City in the co-main event as Coltrane knuckles up and toes the line against Zeb Vincent on August 16.
Coltrane enters the ring as the number-two middleweight contender and looks to carve out a path to garner a sophomore crack at that 175-pound belt that David Mundell still holds.
Doug Coltrane addressed their relation when speaking on Bare Knuckle Bowker when he said:
"I really can't say I like him [Mundell] as a person... Me and Blake [LaCaze], we're really cool. As a person, me and him, we really hit it off outside. I've had fighters that right away, we connect. Right after the fight, win or lose, we connect. Then I've had some fighters that I just don't speak to at all. Then I have some fighters that I really don't like.
"Dave [laughs], he's a character, man... These guys, they get on the internet and they're tough and they talk s***. They've got a lot to say but then when we're in-person, they wanna be nice and shake your hand and s***. [laughs] That ain't how I do it where I'm from. I'm a keep that same energy type of person."

Doug Coltrane and how his David Mundell fight in BKFC played out
Doug Coltrane and David Mundell battled it out for the latter's BKFC crown late last year. They headlined BKFC 53 on November 3 for Mundell's 175-pound belt and he would end up leaving with the title still firmly around his waist.
The 38-year-old has had his last three fights end in the second round, but he ended up on the wrong side of this situation against Mundell. David Mundell, who is also the number-one pound-for-pound fighter in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship as of this writing, secured a stoppage victory over Coltrane at the 1:23 mark of the second stanza.
The North Carolina native had his BKFC record drop to 3-1 and looks to get back in the win column at BKFC Kansas. Conversely, Mundell had his record advance to 8-1 in bare-knuckle boxing.
