Following an entertaining and action-packed WrestleMania weekend, WWE made it official that they will be merging with the UFC under the Endeavor umbrella to form a new publicly traded entertainment company.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel outlined what the merger will mean for both brands as well as the shoreholders. Both companies are listed on the NYSE, so there will be some changes once the merger is in full effect.

In a press release, Endeavor noted that shareholders of the pro wrestling and sports entertainment powerhouse will see all their existing equity roll into the listing of the new parent company, which will be labeled as "NewCo" until officially being named at a later date. The parent company will be listed on the NYSE with the ticker symbol "TKO".

Under the new merger, Emanuel will continue as CEO of Endeavor, McMahon will serve as Executive Chairman of the new company, Mark Shapiro will serve as the new company's President and CEO, Dana White will remain UFC President, and Nick Khan will serve as WWE President.

UFC President Dana White compliments Vince McMahon

UFC President Dana White and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon are no strangers to one another as they have done business in the past, most notably when Brock Lesnar returned for a one-off fight with Mark Hunt in 2016.

When the merger was announced, White noted that he was thrilled that both the combat sports leader and sports entertainment powerhouse were coming together to form a new company under Endeavor.

In the aforementioned press release, he complimented McMahon and expressed his excitement for the future, saying:

"This company has been on fire for the last seven years and now that we will be adding WWE to the portfolio, I am excited to take this to another level. Vince is a savage in the wrestling space, Ari is a beast at what he does, and then add what we at UFC bring to the table and there is no limit to what this company can accomplish in the next few years."
