Fabricio Andrade was likely seconds away from becoming the ONE bantamweight world champion. In a flash, it was all gone and the promotion was left without a king to reign over its bantamweight division.

Losing his title on the scale, John "Hands of Stone" Lineker stepped into the Circle with Andrade at ONE on Prime Video 3 in October. With only "Wonder Boy" eligible, it almost seemed like he was destined to be the division’s next world champion. Unfortunately, a flying knee went low, hitting Lineker in the groin and causing the fight to be called off.

Ruled a no-contest, Fabricio Andrade was devastated. During a recent interview with The MMA Super Fan, Andrade admitted that he was rushing throughout the contest and that it ultimately cost him the victory:

“But then I was like I wanted to finish the fight, then I went crazy, then I rushed, then I tried a flying knee from nowhere and he was able to put me to the ground (in the second round). That’s the small details that I need to fix not just for the rematch but for future fights.”

The two bantamweight stars will clash once again in a highly-anticipated rematch at ONE on Prime Video 7 in February 2023.

Fabricio Andrade already gearing up for his world title rematch with John Lineker

Fabricio Andrade currently does have a ONE world championship wrapped around his waist. But make no mistake, "Wonder Boy" believes that he is the best bantamweight in the promotion. It would be hard to argue considering his undefeated run inside the Circle and his incredible performance against Lineker, despite the anti-climatic finish.

Nevertheless, Andrade believes in himself and he’s ready to get back into the cage and prove it to the rest of the world. Following the no-contest at ONE on Prime Video 3, "Wonder Boy" got right back to work. He even canceled a vacation he had planned, in order to prepare for his February rematch with "Hands of Stone" at ONE on Prime Video 7.

“Now, I'm the best bantamweight in ONE and one of the best in the world, so having the belt would be very important to me. I already gave up my vacation to be able to go back to the gym and continue training.”
