Fabricio Andrade vs. John Lineker ended in a no contest after an unintentional foul

The main event of ONE on Prime Video 3 between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker ended in disappointing fashion. For the three and a half rounds that the fight lasted, Andrade and Lineker delivered on the hype with a war for the ONE bantamweight world championship.

An unintentional illegal knee from Fabricio Andrade caused a stop to the fight. With John Lineker missing weight going into the contest, the belt now lies vacant.

If it wasn’t for Andrade’s follow-up knee to the injured Lineker, ‘Wonder Boy’ would likely have been crowned the new world champion. In an interview with ONE Championship, Andrade spoke about what this moment would’ve meant to him:

“Now, I'm the best bantamweight in ONE and one of the best in the world, so having the belt would be very important to me. I already gave up my vacation to be able to go back to the gym and continue training. Now, I'll wait to find out who will be my opponent for the belt.”

An immediate rematch between the two would be a highly-anticipated rematch. Fabricio Andrade proved himself at ONE on Prime Video 3, hurting Lineker several times and doing exactly what he said he would, turning his opponent into a wrestler.

Former AEW and WWE star Malakai Black sympathises with Fabricio Andrade’s no contest against John Lineker

John Lineker vs. Fabricio Andrade finished in a no contest following an unintentional illegal knee which suddenly halted a great fight. For three and a half rounds, the main event of ONE on Prime Video 3 lived up to its expectations, with both men having moments of offensive brilliance.

After hurting the former bantamweight champion, Fabricio Andrade attempted to land a second knee to the body but it landed low to Lineker’s groin.

After the result, ONE Championship shared a video of ‘Wonder Boy’ reacting to the result backstage, throwing his mouthpiece in frustration. Former AEW and WWE star Malakai Black showed his support for the fighter, commenting on ONE Championship’s Instagram post:

“I feel bad for the dude. Prepped harder than he most likely has ever done. Rematch is going to be a banger.”

Malakai Black uses a striking style in the ring, based on his extensive training in multiple disciplines of martial arts. Thus, he would know the sacrifices that Andrade has had to go through in order to perform the way that he did at ONE on Prime Video 3.
