Fabricio Andrade is ready to put his Muay Thai skills to work when he headlines ONE Fight Night 7 at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

Though he won’t be competing in a Muay Thai contest, ‘Wonder Boy’ will lean heavily on his experience in the art of eight limbs when he meets John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker for the ONE bantamweight world title main event on February 24. In an interview with Bonjour Sports, Andrade said:

“It was Muay Thai, that was my first martial art. It was Muay Thai. I really enjoyed it from the beginning. I feel now, fighting MMA, I still bring a lot of what I learned in Muay Thai, the stance, the elbows. As a [mixed] martial artist, we use everything."

He added:

"We use elbows, punches, knees, kicks, it’s so complete. You can be a complete striker just training Muay Thai and now I think I would say I’m a specialist in MMA but I feel like I bring a lot of Muay Thai into MMA.”

Fabricio Andrade will get his second opportunity to bring home ONE Championship gold after his first meeting with John Lineker ended in an anticlimactic no-contest. Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America can catch the highly anticipated rematch live and for free in U.S. primetime.

Fabricio Andrade is pumped to complete in Thailand at ONE Fight Night 7

Hailing from Brazil, Fabricio Andrade has lived and trained in Thailand for years. When he found out that his next fight would take place in the country he’s called home for the last half-decade, ‘Wonder Boy’ was understandably excited:

“When I got the news that I was fighting in Bangkok, I got really happy, really excited,” Andrade said. “I've been living in Thailand for five years. This is basically my second home. Honestly, if I had to pick a place besides Brazil to fight in, it would be Thailand. I'm very happy to fight here."

Not only will Fabricio Andrade be competing in his home away from home, but he’ll also do so in one of the most iconic venues in combat sports history, Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. Playing host to some of the biggest names in Muay Thai history, ‘Wonder Boy’ hopes to etch his name in the legendary location’s history books by capturing his first ONE world championship.
