ONE bantamweight star Fabricio Andrade had quite the disappointing night at ONE on Prime Video 3 last month. 'Wonder Boy' finally got a world title shot against John Lineker only for the latter to miss weight and come into the fight heavier.

When the fight happened, however, Andrade found a lot of success - eventually hurting 'Hands of Stone' with a hard knee to the body.

As 'Wonder Boy' was about to finish Lineker, he accidentally hit him with a groin shot that ended the bout via a no contest - with no world champion declared in the end. Andrade came literally seconds away from realizing a childhood dream only for it to be snatched away because of an accidental foul.

Needless to say, fans and fighters - including Andrade himself - are calling for an immediate rematch. In an interview with The MMA Superfan on YouTube, Andrade spoke about the fight and what will transpire if and when a rematch happens.

When asked if 'Hands of Stone' will hurt him once they square off again, Fabricio Andrade answered with:

"I won’t give him a chance. If you come back and watch the fight, that was the last time (the second round) he actually touched me and then after that I just started to pick him apart."

While it was clear that Andrade was masterfully using his length to counter Lineker's powerful looping hooks, 'Hands of Stone' was still able to tag him a few times. Though Linerker's punches barely appear to have hurt him, Andrade still very much prefers not to get hit - and we agree with him 100%.

Fabricio Andrade disappointed with his performance despite almost finishing John Lineker at ONE on Prime Video 3

In another interview with SCMP MMA, Fabricio Andrade gave his assessment and insight into his performance and the unlikely outcome of his fight with Lineker. Despite being absolutely marvelous in his dismantling of the former world champion, Andrade was surprisingly disappointed with his performance:

“That’s the reason why I knew I was going to win the fight. That’s the same case with my fight with Shoko Sato. I won the fight. I knew I was going to win, but it was not my best performance. I didn’t show everything that I can do in those fights.”

Before Fabricio Andrade's fight with John Lineker, Japan's Shoko Sato was the last fighter to survive and hear the judges' scorecards against 'Wonder Boy'.

It appears that Andrade will not settle for anything less than perfect. This pursuit of perfection and being his own worst critic is a sign of a future world champion. Let's see if he pulls off the same kind of performance if ever a rematch gets booked in the future.
