Fabricio Andrade says he's learned his lesson from his first fight against John Lineker.

Fabricio Andrade was on the cusp of making history during his first fight against John Lineker at ONE on Prime Video 3, but a wayward strike shattered his dreams of capturing the ONE bantamweight world title.

‘Wonder Boy’ seemed to be winning the match until he accidentally tagged Lineker with a knee strike to the groin. With Lineker unable to recover in time, the first match between the rivals was ruled a no-contest.

With the bitter memory of that fight still fresh on his mind, Andrade said that he’s learned from the disappointing finish and vowed to do better in his world title rematch against Lineker at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video this Friday US primetime.

Fabricio Andrade told the South China Morning Post:

“Yeah yeah, I think that fight taught me a lot. I took a lot from that fight and made me improve as a fighter, as a person, and what I’m doing day to day. And to have the opportunity now to do a rematch against him in Thailand and we are the main event at Lumpinee Stadium, a historical stadium, it’s just insane. I’m really happy with everything that’s happening right now and I’m more than ready to get my belt.”

ONE Fight Night 7 is set to take place at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium and will be available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

John Lineker is a “nice guy” but Fabricio Andrade still looking for KO win

Fabricio Andrade has been a firebrand on the microphone whenever he talked about John Lineker heading into ONE Fight Night 7.

Though he’s usually lighting up ‘Hands of Stone’ during his interviews, Andrade admitted that his rival is a nice guy overall.

Andrade, however, has no problems seeking out a knockout win over his fellow Brazilian.

Talking to MMA Underground, Andrade said:

“Yeah I think he’s patient you know, he was really patient and he’s a nice guy. We talked before the fight. He came to talk to me and he was really nice. But it is what it is. In the cage it’s all business. I want to knock him out, he wants to knock me out.”
