It’s no mystery as to how Fabricio Andrade sees things playing out against division rival John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker this Friday night.

After their no-contest at ONE on Prime Video 3 in October, ‘Wonder Boy’ plans to put a stamp on things in their highly anticipated rematch that will headline ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand.

In an interview with MMA Underground, Fabricio Andrade laid his cards on the table, revealing that he is gunning for a highlight-reel knockout against John Lineker:

“Coming for this fight, he’s not gonna put me down. I want to keep the fight, the whole time, standing up. Yeah, just be patient and take my time because I’m gonna knock him out if it’s in the first round or if it’s in the fifth round I’m gonna be waiting to knock him out.”

If there’s anyone that can knock out a living legend like John Lineker, it’s Fabricio Andrade. In his last three appearances, ‘Wonder Boy’ has scored spectacular knockouts of Li Kai Wen, Team Lakay’s Jeremy Pacatiw, and Kwon Won Il. His last knockout was perhaps his most spectacular as it wasn’t the hands, but the feet, that got it done for Andrade.

‘Wonder Boy’ was able to put the South Korean away in just 62 seconds with a brutal body kick that folded Kwon Won Il like a lawn chair. The victory secured Andrade’s status as the top contender to the ONE bantamweight world championship.

At ONE Fight Night 7, Andrade hopes to add John Lineker to his list of highlights. Fans in North America can catch the event live and for free on Prime Video with an active Amazon subscription.

Fabricio Andrade was thankful that John Lineker accepted the rematch

After Fabricio Andrade appeared to be mere seconds away from capturing the ONE bantamweight world championship in October, ‘Wonder Boy’ was uncertain as to whether or not John Lineker would accept the rematch. Fortunately, ‘Hands of Stone’ was more than game to run it back with Andrade despite being on what would have likely been the losing end had an ill-placed knee from Andrade not ended things abruptly in their first meeting:

“After the fight, I was just a bit worried that he wouldn’t accept the rematch because he was just -- he was just not looking very good after the fight. So for me, I just didn’t like to try to really push the fight. But when he accepted the fight, I was so happy and surprised that he did accept it.”

Both fighters successfully passed their hydration tests and weigh-in ahead of ONE Fight Night 7, allowing fans and ONE Championship officials to breathe a massive sigh of relief after October’s weigh-in debacle.
