ONE Championship recently posted a throwback highlight of Fabricio Andrade taking out Kwon Won Il in the first round.

Before his ongoing rivalry with John Lineker, ‘Wonder Boy’ was a rising contender looking to earn a world title shot. The Brazilian bantamweight earned a number-one contender fight after defeating his first four opponents - three of them inside the distance.

Andrade then took out Kwon Won Il in the first-round with a liver kick. ONE uploaded the highlight-reel finish on YouTube with the caption:

“Before top-ranked contender Fabricio Andrade meets former divisional king John Lineker in a highly anticipated rematch for the vacant ONE Bantamweight World Title on February 24, relive his brutal knockout of South Korean sensation Kwon Won Il in 2022!”

Andrade’s win against Won Il in June 2022 led to a highly-anticipated world championship fight against Lineker.

‘Wonder Boy’ was on track to becoming the bantamweight king before he landed an unintentional groin shot on Lineker that ended the fight in a no-contest. The 25-year-old will get another shot at ONE Championship gold on February 25.

‘Wonder Boy’ wasn’t always a highly touted world title contender. He started his professional MMA career with a record of 3-2 before signing with ONE. Since then, the Brazilian has dominated his way to the top of the bantamweight division.

On February 25, Andrade has an opportunity to solidify his legacy by taking out Lineker at ONE Fight Night 7. North American viewers can stream the event live and for free on Amazon Prime.
