“You can never take Bibiano out” - Fabricio Andrade warns Stephen Loman of Fernandes’ tenacity

Fabricio Andrade is currently the highest-ranked fighter in a bantamweight division with no champion. While his fight with John Lineker ended in a no-contest, his performance in the bout was enough to prove that he belongs at the top.

The bantamweight championship picture became muddled after the main event of ONE on Prime Video 3. With John Lineker being stripped of his title on the scale and Andrade landing an unintentional foul which ended the fight, the belt was left vacant.

Whilst a rematch between ‘Wonder Boy’ and Lineker has already been set for ONE on Prime Video 7, the bantamweight division isn’t going to remain stagnant while it waits for the two Brazilians to resolve their first fight.

At ONE on Prime Video 4, former champion Bibiano Fernandes will face a rising contender in Stephen Loman. The event is live and free with a Prime Video subscription.

In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Fabricio Andrade gave his prediction for the fight whilst cautioning the younger fighter:

“I think [Loman] has a little bit of advantage, but you can never take Bibiano out. He can always take a knockout out of nowhere, get a submission out of nowhere, and he has a lot of experience as well. But I would pick Loman for that one.”

“Even after I beat him” - Fabricio Andrade still feels John Lineker is "the most dangerous guy"

With a rematch scheduled for ONE on Prime Video 7, the war between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker is far from over.

At ONE on Prime Video 3 in their first meeting, it was clear that there was going to be a rematch between the two as soon as the fight ended. Whilst it came to a disappointing end, a no-contest following an unintentional foul, the fight delivered on the hype whilst it lasted.

Despite his impressive performance against the former champion, Fabricio Andrade still believes that John Lineker is his biggest test at bantamweight.

In the same interview with The MMA Superfan, ‘Wonder Boy’ said:

“So they wanna put the world championship on the line and he’s [Lineker] the guy. I’ve been saying even before the fight, even after I beat him, I still think he’s the most dangerous guy in the division. I still believe he can beat Bibiano again or he can beat Stephen Loman.”

Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker will meet again on February 10 at the Jakarta Convention Center in Indonesia with the bantamweight world championship on the line.
