Rodtang Jitmuangnon loves competing but still has a plan for when his career is over

ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmaungnon may be a force of nature when he steps inside the circle, but that doesn’t mean he’s afraid to show his sensitive side.

Alongside competing on the biggest stages possible and putting on ferocious performances, ‘The Iron Man’ has been embracing married life.

Whilst he shows no signs of stopping any time soon, with his next world title defense already lined up for May 5, the world champion is well aware that fighting is a young man’s game.

Before he returns to the circle to make his debut in the United States against Edgar Tabares at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, the flyweight Muay Thai king spoke about his personal life, his plans going forward and how he met his wife.

In an interview with ONE Championship, he said:

“I always wanted to live the married life and have a family because I’m getting older. I’ve been a fighter for a long time and I’m tired. You can’t stay in this career forever. As a fighter, time is limited for us in this career. I want to live the rest of my life with my happy family.”

He added:

“I met Aida in 2020. We talked through messages and got closer until we decided to date each other. We once broke up because we didn’t understand each other. But when we both grew up, we talked to each other again and decided to begin again in our relationship until we were married.”

Rodtang grateful to be part of monumental ONE Fight Night 10 card

At ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5, Rodtang Jitmaungnon will break new ground in his career.

As the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, ‘The Iron Man’ has produced a dominant run in ONE Championship that has made him the biggest star that the sport has ever seen.

Already a huge name in Asia, for his next fight, Rodtang will travel to the United States to compete overseas for the first time in his career.

On May 5 in Colorado, the world champion will look to defend his gold against promotional newcomer Edgar Tabares. The entire card will also be available live and for free on North American television via Prime Video.

No doubt wanting to put on a show for the US fans who have waited to see him compete on their home soil for a long time, the champion is grateful for the chance that he has been given.

The 25-year old recently posted an image of the fight card on Instagram, alongside the caption:
