Several MMA fans recently expressed displeasure over UFC for failing to provide Kai Asakura with a translator before UFC 310. Many bashed the promotion for causing inconvenience to the fighter and the audience, while some praised Joe Rogan and Asakura for handling the situation well.
For context, ahead of UFC 310, Rogan asked Asakura about his thoughts on the upcoming title fight with Alexandre Pantoja during the final faceoff at the ceremonial weigh-ins. As a Japanese, the title challenger requested a translator, but there was none, putting Asakura in a difficult position.
However, he handled the situation well with the aid of the UFC commentator, who explained Asakura's thoughts.
