Mike Tyson is well aware of the dangers of drugs, particularly fentanyl, when used illegally, as he recently visited the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency laboratory in New York City. Tyson, who wore a blue DEA lab coat, was joined by the acting U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, Alina Habba. Notably, Habba started a 'strike force' to tackle organizations that smuggle illegal substances.
Tyson took to Instagram to demand that the authorities act right away against those involved in the illegal sale of fentanyl, writing:
“Today I learned a lot from touring the North East DEA lab. Fentanyl distribution is killing millions and we need to make sure this illegal distribution is stopped. Trans National cartels are distributing fentanyl across our country and as a compliant cannabis company founder safety is important. They aren’t just spreading fentanyl but they are also putting unregulated pesticide and toxin laden cannabis into the U.S. market and it’s making people sick.''

''This needs to be stopped to protect Americans. Thank you North East DEA Lab and @alina_habba for the tour, education and working tirelessly to get this bad stuff off the streets and saving lives. #onepillcankill @deahq''
As for the combat sports scene, Tyson made his return to professional boxing in a heavyweight contest against celebrity influencer Jake Paul last year in Texas. Many were against the bout due to their significant age difference, however, the fight went ahead as planned and the 58-year-old suffered a unanimous decision loss following a lackluster performance.
When Mike Tyson opened up about his drug addiction prior to the Jake Paul fight
Mike Tyson battled with drug addiction in the build-up to his highly anticipated boxing return against Jake Paul last year, which was streamed live on Netflix.
Last September, Tyson made an appearance on the Come And Talk 2 Me podcast and discussed his struggles with marijuana, saying:
''I smoked weed all my life. Listen, I was born an addict. I was born that way. I'm a junkie. So, that's just how I was born. I don't know what to do. I don't get high now, but that's who I am. I switch my addiction to something else, but I'm a junkie...I was smoking not too long ago. I'm cool now, probably two weeks or so without smoking. I did a little mushrooms before I came here though.''
