It seems Francis Ngannou has agreed to Tyson Fury's unusual terms for a boxing match between the pair. The 34-year-old recently iterated his interest in facing the former UFC heavyweight champion in the boxing ring. He outlined four conditions for the 'Baddest Man on the Planet' title bout.

Fury demanded that the fight take place in a cage with 4-ounce gloves under Queensbury rules. He also wanted a big-name referee like Mike Tyson to officiate the bout to make things interesting. Responding to these demands, Francis Ngannou tweeted out his acceptance of the terms.

The stipulation of the bout taking place under "Queensbury Rules" refers to the set of rules outlined by the English journalist John Graham Chambers in 1867 to provide clear guidelines for all fighters involved in a boxing match. The 12 rules include a ban on wrestling moves in the ring, 3-minute rounds, and procedures to follow when a fighter goes 'down.'

Interestingly, Francis Ngannou also agreed to use 4-ounce gloves in their boxing match. Considering that usual heavyweight boxers compete with a pair of 16-ounce gloves, using much smaller sized gloves could change the way their bout progresses. It is important to note that 4-ounce gloves are the standard size used in pro-MMA fights.

Tom Aspinall weighs in on a potential Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury boxing match

Francis Ngannou shockingly exited the UFC earlier this year after protracted talks over the terms of his contract renewal with the promotion. It was revealed that one of the biggest hurdles was the UFC's refusal to let their then-heavyweight champion compete in boxing outside the organization.

With his current status as a free agent, the 36-year-old has publicly stated his intention to venture into boxing and called for a matchup against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. As mentioned previously, Ngannou has also agreed to the terms set forth by the 34-year-old boxing champion.

While Ngannou is widely known as one of the hardest-hitting men in combat sports, Tom Aspinall doesn't count on Ngannou winning against either of them. The UFC's No.6-ranked heavyweight recently told TalkSports:

"I think they are good fights for PR and money and stuff... Pure boxing is different, it’s a whole other sport on its own... He [Francis Ngannou] definitely has a chance of winning but I don’t think the chance is very big to be honest. Punching with boxing gloves and MMA gloves is completely different."

While it apparently seems like both men have agreed to face each other, there is no official confirmation yet. It seems Tyson Fury is pursuing a matchup against Oleksandr Usyk, failing which will turn his attention toward Ngannou.
